Could the person doing the job find the agreed details without piecing together five messages? A short job brief helps a cleaner, helper or technician get ready. It’s useful when that person is you, too.
Bring the agreed details together
Start from the accepted estimate. Include the job reference, customer contact, location, arrival window, scope, exclusions, equipment and person responsible. Keep unanswered questions in a separate section so they don’t look like confirmed instructions.
Share the brief only with people who need it. Keep entry codes and other private access details in an appropriately restricted place, separate from a broadly shared brief.
Show what is and isn’t included
Hypothetical cleaning example: a recurring visit covers the agreed rooms; inside-oven cleaning is excluded. A request to add it stays pending until scope and price are agreed.
For a small repair, list the specific item to be repaired and any parts still awaiting confirmation. When work changes, update the brief from the customer’s approval and tell the person doing the job. Keep the earlier estimate or approval available for reference.
